不论故事还是内涵，人物还是情感，跟《马语者》比差远了，也比不上《往日情怀》。当初看《往日情怀》时觉得罗伯特·雷德福和芭芭拉·史翠珊没有爱火花，结果这部和菲弗搭档更无感，看他们亲热甚至都觉得尴尬。罗伯特稳重老派，只有成熟有韵味的女性才能搭起来。

“关于一位摄影师是如何找到摄影(家庭照)的意义的”，题材是好的，但拍得稍作无趣，且剧情推进相当缓慢，后半段震后灾情洗照片找照片选取的拍摄对象也演技欠佳显得不真实……不过结局还是令人眼前一亮的。“为什么没有爸爸的照片？”“因为爸爸是拿相机纪录家人的人”。
